WANTED
The two-legged predators are everywhere. In boats and tarins. In pubs and warehouses. One khaki-clad spitting and foul-mouthed villain (played with despicable authenticity by Mahesh Manjrekar) even infiltrates a decent woman’s house and threatens to sleep with both mother and daughter. Ouch. Mercifully the daughter Ayesha Takia has Salman for a boyfriend. But the poor police commissioner (Govind Namdeo, in a positive role for a change) is unlucky with his daughter. She gets kidnapped, raped and MMS-ed by the arch-villain. It’s a mean world out there. Thank God for the screen hero. While Vinod Khanna is wasted and Manoj Pawa’s role as the overgrown boy-in-a-bubble nextdoor doesn’t quite fit into the scheme of things, Prakash Raj as the villain gives celluloid diabolism an interesting new twist. He looks zonked, menacing and ironical. His confrontation with the police commissioner is written with that polished panache that brings a twist to pulp frictions. But make no mistake. This is a made-to-order film for Salman Khan. As a one-man army Salman springs into every frame with that trademark mix of a bored swagger and agile comicality. His romantic moments with Ayesha have a lived- in credibility except when the songs take over. That’s the cue to run for cover.Strictly for fans of action flicks, and Salman in that order.

Wanted

Wanted
By Subhash K JhaStarring Salman Khan, Salman Khan, & Salman KhanDirected by Prabhu DevaRating: **Though National award-winner Prakash Raj’s flamboyant villainy and Ayesha Takia’s endearing cuteness do miraculously find a place in the plot, this is the hero’s vehicle like very few masala-maar-ke products in recent times. Welcome to the world of the won-man-army. Salman Khan adapts his goon’s name Radhe from Tere Naam where he mixed violence with vulnerability in a heady brew. The mix in Wanted is far more brackish and tangy. Wanted is an oldfashioned bone-cruncher with guns and goons creating a kind of orchestrated anarchy that was done with far more élan in Ghajini. In Wanted the violence is far cruder and guttural. The hero is on a sort of society-cleansing spree where the mode of conduct adopted by the villains and heroes become the same. Director Prabhu Deva retains the crude edges from the original Telugu material Pokhiri. The villains are vicious and foul -mouthed. They are quite often seen in Khaki and very often represent the kind of unfettered anti-socialism that can only be contained by a law-sanctioned vigilanteism that Salman practices in the last-quarter of this blood-thirsty tale. By the time he goes shirt-less the script has whipped itself into a sweaty stupor. The plot is essentially a one-liner. One-man army takes on a city filled with scums. The villains are everywhere in Mumbai. It was Hyderabad in the Telugu original. But what difference does it make? Cities change, morality doesn’ t.

Chintuji

Chintuji
Next Gen Films and Kaleidoscope Entertainment announced today the release of Chintuji, a humorous take on actors becoming politicians. Starring veteran actor Rishi Kapoor who plays himself [Chintu Kapoor], the hilarious satire is scheduled to release on 4th September. After being highly appreciated in the super hit Love Aaj Kal, Rishi Kapoor is all set to captivate audiences with his character driven role in Chintuji where he plays himself Rishi ‘Chintu’ Kapoor. Set in a small but beautiful village called ‘Hadbahedi’, Chintuji casts Rishi Kapoor in an intriguing role, which has been very special to the actor. The film has been produced by Bobby Bedi and written & directed by Ranjit Kapoor of cult comedy ‘Jane Bhi Do Yaaron’ fame of which he wrote the dialogues. In this hilarious satire on actors becoming politicians, the film takes the fun route with Rishi Kapoor playing a ‘reel life brat’ portraying all his ‘real life’ idiosyncrasies. Speaking of his role in Chintuji, Rishi Kapoor says, “I’m thrilled with this role as this is the first time I have portrayed a character this close to my real personality. I had a ball playing this role and it occupies a very special place in my heart. Despite being an uproarious comedy, the film still manages to remain meaningful and beautifully brings out the satire and emotions. It’s a superb blend of fiction and reality. In the words of one of my Father, Shri Raj Kapoor’s favourite songs – it is “Aadhi Haqeeqat, Aadha fasana”. The film stars Rishi Kapoor as lead protagonist along with Priyanshu Chatterjee, Kulraj Randhawa, Grusha Kapoor and Sourabh Shukla with a special performance by Sophie Choudhary.

In Katie's Defence: The Price Is Right!

In Katie's Defence: The Price Is Right!
Since the breakdown of Katie Price and Peter Andre's marriage, fans and gossip magazines alike have come out in support of the down-to-earth Aussie. What did they expect Pricey to do – sit at home and cry? Surely not.
Was it just me or did anyone else feel slightly sad and a bit guilty seeing the pictures of Katie Price wearing a ‘Team Katie’ T-shirt recently? Obviously she’s a woman with perfectly honed media skills and as a photo opportunity it was marvellous, but it felt like a solitary stand in the face of a very hostile world.

Since the Price/Andre split was announced in May, the nation has rounded on Katie and assumed that ‘It must have been her fault’ or ‘Her partying finally finished it’. The glamour model’s over-the-top display in Ibiza did nothing to quell these opinions and the tabloids have gone into Jordan-hating overdrive.

Peter, on the other hand, finds his professional prospects booming and he is probably punching the air over the amount of positive press cuttings he has garnered. But we don’t really know what happened between them, so how can we side with either star?

Celina Jaitley Inspired by Kate Moss

Celina Jaitley Inspired by Kate Moss

Model and actress Celina Jaitley turned up the heat for a shoot she did recently. She posed in a bikini for Stardust and said that her inspiration came from a somewhat unexpected source. "I had seen this fabulous swimwear shoot of one of my favorite models, Kate Moss. I instantly knew that I had to do something on the same lines. I was really inspired and wanted to do a shoot which is quite beautiful and of course very sensuous."

Celina Jaitley Reveals Her First Boyfriend was Gay

By: Mufsin Mahbub
Celina Jaitley has met with great success with films like 'No Entry' and 'Golmaal Returns' by sizzling up the screen with her presence.
Apart from her films, Celina's commendable work for gay rights has also kept her busy. She walked at the Gay Parade held in Mumbai but not many know what actually made her fight for the gay, bisexual and transgender cause. Celina revealed to Stardust Magazine that the first man she fell in love with turned out to be gay.
"My first boyfriend was gay and that's the reason I continued being a gay rights activist." The only question is how did she discover he was gay?
"I had newly moved to study in Kolkata and had also just started modeling. I met him there when I went to a nightclub for the first time in my life. We became good friends. He later proposed and I accepted eagerly as I had never been in a relationship in my life before. I got to know that he was gay within a couple of months but didn't know how to deal with it. He wouldn't accept it openly that he was gay and continued relationships with other men while I remained a girlfriend to show everyone he was straight."
But Celina doesn't hold any grudges. "He came out of the closet soon after and we ended up becoming good friends but he dealt with the dilemma and trauma of abusive relationships, hiding his sexuality from his parents and family. His story ended last year when he passed away of heart failure due to bulimia. But the long lost love for this person also continues be a major factor in my life to pursue my quest for gay rights in India. I've had gay friends all my life. They always stood by me whenever I needed them. There was a time when if you were a homosexual, you were considered a eunuch. Unfortunately, that was the understanding of homosexuality in India. I realized I couldn't sit quietly anymore and I had to stand up," she said.
Celina had faced hurdles for supporting this cause. "There is a Bollywood website where they have abused me and called me a lesbian. I have got threatening letters from certain cultural activists but I have carried on because somebody has to take the first step. This is a human rights issue and not a charity. I worked with a gay group in Kolkata for homosexuals as well. I have also worked in HIV awareness camps. I hope to do much more and the health ministry is also very supportive of it. There is a student community, which has supported my Facebook group," she informs.
Celina also had no doubts about playing a homosexual on screen. "If John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan can do it, I am sure somebody and I can do it also. There is nothing wrong in it. Love has no language - be it between two men, women or heterosexuals. Whether you portray it in a funny or provocative way, love is love," she states.
Now that you have read to her story, we want your opinion on Celina Jaitley's support for homosexuals. Is she doing the right thing standing up for what she believes in? Since she mentioned that she has no problem playing a lesbian on screen, do you think she can pull it off? Give us your thoughts on this actress-turned-activist.
